Kenneth L. Starry age 81 of St. Louis, Michigan died Sunday, December 19, 2004 at St. Marya�(TM)s Hospital, Saginaw, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 11:00 A.M at St. Louis First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI. Pastor Lillian French will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 6-8 P.M. & Wednesday, December 22, 2004 3-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
Ken was born in St. Louis, Michigan on January 9, 1923 the son of Charles & Ina ( Wright ) Starry Sr. He resided most of his life in St. Louis, Michigan. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1940. Kenneth married Beverly Holton on October 17, 1948 in St. Louis, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He retired from Midwest Lumber about 7 years ago. He had also been employed by Redman Industries for 37 years and owned and operated Kena�(TM)s Party Store for 10 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Louis First United Methodist Church as well as the Alma Elks Lodge # 1400, American Legion, and the VFW Post # 3055 in St. Louis, MI.
Ken is survived by his wife Beverly Starry of St. Louis, MI, 3 children; Gregory & Maureen Starry of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Rise & Patrick Gleason of Davison, MI, James Starry of San Jose, CA, 5 grandchildren; Shawn, Shayne, Meghan, Kelly, Jacob, 1 brother Charles & Donna Starry Jr. of Houghton Lake, MI & 1 sister Marie & Bob Watson of Haines City, FL. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Ralph Boyles, Maynard Starry, & Frank Starry, & sister Virginia Dutcher.
