Kristina Joann (Hernandez) Magoon, age 45, of Alma, MI passed Friday, January 4, 2013 at her home after a 4 year battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at Seville Church of God, Elwell, MI on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor George Showers officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3-8 PM. at Seville Church of God.
Kristina was born in Carson City, Michigan on July 25, 1967, the daughter of Joseph and Janet (Kessler) Hernandez. Kris attended St. Louis Public Schools, and graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1985. She earned her associates degree from Davenport University. She worked as a medical assistant with Dr. Proutys Ithaca Family Practice office for several years, and with many other medical offices in Gratiot County. She was also employed by Dr. Smiths VisionSmith office in Edmore. She married Broc Magoon on July 18, 2004 in Ithaca, MI. She was very active in her church, serving as a youth leader, and President of the women's ministry at Seville Church of God. Kris enjoyed reading, crafting, scrap booking, shopping, weekend getaways and spending time with her family. She was a very giving, generous person and always putting others ahead of herself. She was a member of Seville Church of God and of the Vestaburg Sports Boosters.
She is survived by 2 sons; Tom Anderson of Alma, MI, Jacob Olson of Riverdale, MI, parents Joe and Janet Hernandez of Alma, MI, brother Joe and Lisa Hernandez of St. Louis, MI, sister Mary Olson of Riverdale, MI, sister Cindy and Doug Rennells of Ithaca, MI, brother Robert and Pam Hernandez of Alma, MI, sister Stephanie Hernandez of Alma, MI, nephew David Shrader of Alma, MI, niece Jennifer and Cody Reed of Alma, MI, nephew Zachary Hernandez of St. Louis, MI, niece Heather Hernandez and Chase Cochran of Alma, MI, nephew Jeremy Rennells of Ithaca, MI, niece Breann Hernandez of Breckenridge, MI, niece Kharley Hernandez of Alma, MI, and several great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Russell & Ora Kessler and Louis & Juanita Hernandez, Uncle John & Aunt Sylvia Hernandez, Uncle James Hernandez, father in law Thomas Anderson, father in law Ray Magoon, daughter Chelsea Magoon, and sister in law Trudi Magoon.
