L. Frances Irvin, age 92, of St. Louis, MI died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Warwick Living Center in Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, St. Louis on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Terri Bentley will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
Frances was born in Alma, Michigan on August 11, 1917, the daughter of Charles F. and Ina M. (Kiter) Ries. She graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1935. Frances married A. Clare Irvin on May 16, 1937 in Saginaw, MI. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1987. Frances was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She enjoyed flower & vegetable gardening, and was a clerk at the D & C Store and Sharkeys John Deere. She volunteered many years in the church nursery. Frances and her husband were faithful walkers of the Mackinaw Bridge for 25 years. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son Gary and Lou Irvin of Alma, MI, 4 grandchildren; Travis Netzley of Alma, MI, Seana and Tony Brown of Carson City, MI, Chad and Olga Irvin of Alma, MI, Cory and Cheryl Irvin of Alma, MI, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Susan in 1996, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.
