LaDonna Ann Garrett, age 71, of Alma, MI died Monday, September 30, 2013 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alma, MI on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 12:30 P.M., with Fr. Nathan Harburg officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI. Visitation will be held prior to Mass on Friday from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.
LaDonna was born in Alma, Michigan on August 28, 1942, the daughter of Edward John and Leona Regina (Wagner) Daniel. She married Ronald James Garrett. He preceded her in death in March 2002. LaDonna was a lifelong resident of Alma. She liked to cook, shop, and do crafts. Although she was a very private person, LaDonna was a wonderful mother and grandmother who most of all loved spending time with her family. She lived for her grandchildren. The holidays and birthdays were very important to her, and never missed sending a card. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alma, MI.
LaDonna is survived by her son David and Karen Garrett of North Carolina, daughter Marie and Tom Cojocar of Grayling, MI, son Ron and Julie Garrett of Riverdale, MI, 10 grandchildren; Tommy and Jessica Cojocar, Angie and Jerry Hemple, Henry Cojocar, Jeffrey and Kelsey Garrett, Jessica Garrett, Michael and Christina Roberts, David Garrett Jr, and Kayla, Jimmy, and Wyatt Swindlehurst, 7 great grandchildren; Jeremy and Ashley Hemple, Blake and Brady Cojocar, Bentley Garrett, Michael and Katie Roberts, 4 brothers; Casper (Barbara) Daniel, Harold Daniel, Jim (Sara) Daniel, Dennis Daniel, 3 sisters; Dorothy Cowdrey, Rita (Eugene) Oswald, and Bernadette (Don) Howell, sisters in law; Barbara Daniel, Beverly (Randy) Stewart, and Pauline Daniel, and special friend and constant companion Linda Farr of Alma, who was always there when she needed her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, daughter Laurie Garrett, an infant granddaughter, 4 brothers; Joseph, Albert, Richard, and Bernard, an infant sister Mary, 2 infant brothers; Walter and Raymond, brother in law Bill Cowdrey, and sister in law Betty Daniel.
