Laura Linnell Reese age 89 of Corunna, Michigan died Monday, October 15, 2007 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center, Durand, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. David R. Strobe will officiate with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery Corunna, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 6-8 P.M.

Laura was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 25, 1918 the daughter of David L. Stage and Ida Mae Andrus. She resided most of her life in in Eaton Rapids before moving to Corunna where she lived for 60 years. She graduated from Olivet School with the class of 1936. Laura married Clyde L. Reese on April 22, 1937 in Indiana. He passed away on September 13, 1993. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and crafts. She also fed a lot of stray cats and squirrels in the neighborhood.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Linnell & Robert Striggow of Corunna, MI, Caroline & Bruce Johns of Swartz Creek, MI, grandchildren; Jill & Reynold Batteen, Shawn & William Belanger, Ryan & Wendy Donlan, Lorie Wile, Kristy & Jeff Wolcott, Nikki & William Pratt, Chris Johns, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews and her best friend & beloved cat Frisky. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 brother David Stage, and 2 sisters; Rosemary Potter, Dorthy Whitinger.

Memorials may be made to Salvation Army. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
