Laura Schlarf

Laura Louise Schlarf age 77, of Perrinton, MI, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Masonic Pathways Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at East Washington United Brethren Church, Ashley, MI, on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Jeff Reser officiating.  Burial will take place at New Haven Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI.

Laura was born in Flint, Michigan on October 9, 1939, the daughter of Walter and Viola Mae (Dow) Hector.  She graduated from Fulton High School and lived most of her life in Ithaca and Perrinton, MI. On February 10, 1956 Laura married Ted Schlarf in Grand Ledge, Michigan.  Laura was a caregiver for families in their home, and formerly had worked at H&H Cleaners, Ithaca, MI and was a member of East Washington United Brethren Church, Ashley, MI.

She is survived by her husband Ted Schlarf of Perrinton, MI, son Raymond Schlarf of Perrinton, MI, daughter Sue and John Smolka of Ithaca, MI; 2 grandchildren; Jeremy and Jennifer Smolka of Alma, MI, and Stephanie and Jacob Hodges, of Alma, MI, and a great granddaughter Samantha Smolka. She was predeceased by her parents.
