Laurie Leona Garrett, age 48, of Alma, MI died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Alma, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.

Laurie was born in Alma, Michigan on March 21, 1964, the daughter of Ronald James and Ladonna Ann (Daniel) Garrett. Laurie enjoyed camping, boating, whitewater rafting, and loved having fun and visiting. She loved her family, especially her children.

She is survived by her daughter Kayla Swindlehurst of Mt. Pleasant, MI, son James Swindlehurst of Alma, MI, son Wyatt Swindlehurst of Mt. Pleasant, MI, mother Ladonna Garrett of Alma, MI, brother David and Karen Garrett of North Carolina, sister Marie and Tom Cojocar of Grayling, MI, and brother Ron and Julie Garrett of Riverdale, MI. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant daughter.
