LaVern "Vern" A. Earegood age 67 of Ithaca, Michigan died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Gratiot Medical Center Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel Ithaca, MI on Monday, May 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Pastor George Showers will officiate with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery Breckenridge, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 from 6-8 P.M. and Sunday, May 21, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M .

Vern was born in Midland County, Michigan on May 9, 1939 the son of Mack and Iva ( Hill ) Earegood. He resided most of his life in Pleasant Valley, Lansing and for the past 30 years in Ithaca, Michigan. He graduated from Shepherd High School with the class of 1958. Vern married Ruth Ann Martin on June 15, 2002 at New Haven Church of God. He retired from Federal Mogel in March of 2001 after 24 1/2 years of service. He loved traveling, camping, tinkering in his garage, and drinking coffee with his buddies. Vern was a member of New Haven Church of God, New Haven Township.

He is survived by wife Ruth Ann Earegood of Ithaca, MI, 3 children; James & Kris Earegood of East Jordan, MI, Debbie & Robert Bierman of Birch Run, MI, Annie & Ali Alaredy of Gaylord, MI, 2 step-children; Chad Denman of Shepherd, MI, Lisa & Marvin Foster of Alma, MI, parents-in-law: Jack & Edna Martin of Harrison, MI, 14 granchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and grandmother-in-law Ruth Guthrie of St. Louis, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Memorials may be made to New Haven Church of God Building Fund, New Haven Township. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
