LaVern Bert Pearsall, age 91, of St. Johns, Michigan formerly of Owosso, Michigan died July 17, 2012.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 23, 2012 at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel, St. Johns, MI. Rev. David Maltzan will officiate. Burial will take place at Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna, MI with Rev. Edward Sweard officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.

LaVern was born in Caledonia Township, Michigan on March 12, 1921, the son of Daniel and Julia (Hopson) Pearsall. He lived all of his life in Owosso, MI and was a member of Easton Church of Christ. LaVern retired from General Motors in 1983 after 32 years of service.

On May 18, 1938 he married Leora Nina Seward and she preceded him in death on December 9, 1989 after 51 years of marriage.

LaVern is survived by three sons, Arlond "Ike" and Gerry Pearsall of Dewitt, MI, Calvin and Linda Pearsall of Burton, MI and Frank and Terry Pearsall of Mt. Clemens, MI, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife, LaVern was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Pearsall, two brothers, Nelson and Ivan Pearsall and two sisters, Vivian Goret and Doris Jones.
