Lawrence J. "Champ" Koenigsknecht, 64 years old, of Lansing, MI (formerly of Fowler), passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 in Lansing, Michigan. Larry was born on August 4, 1948 in St. Johns, Michigan. Larry was a General Motors employee, member of the Local #652; St. Gerard Catholic Parish; Vietnam veteran and proud member of the VFW Post #3733. Larry enjoyed being at his cottage, fishing, bowling, auctions and loved being retired.

Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eva; son, Brandon (Marysa Embury) and grandson, Phoenix. He is also survived by his father, Alfred Koenigsknecht (Loretta Kappler); siblings: Carol Eldridge, Jim (Marsha) Koenigsknecht, Tom (Jacque), Mike (Diane), Dale (Therese) and Diane (Brad) Hulliberger; mother-in-law, Theda Fleming; and step-son, Todd Foland. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends. Larry was predeceased by his mother Anna Rose; brother, Ken; step-daughter Paula Foland-Hood; brother-in-law, Doug Eldridge; father-in-law, Jeff Fleming; nephew, Kenny; and his grandparents.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Sunday, May 12th with a rosary service at 8PM and Monday, May 13th from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm with a rosary service at 3 pm and scripture service at 8:00 pm, at the Osgood Funeral Home, Goerge Chapel, 11112 West Ionia Street, Fowler, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 10:30 am at Most Holy Trinity Church in Fowler. The con-celebrants will be Father John Klein and Father Dennis Howard. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fowler. Donations may be made to the St. Gerard Educational Trust Fund, 4437 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917.
