Lawrence Sonley

Lawrence Sonley, age 88, of St. Louis, MI died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his home in his beloved garden that he cared for, for the past 70 years.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11-1 at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Lawrence was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on July 30, 1923, the son of Frank and Grace (Acker) Sonley. He graduated from St. Louis High School and served in the U.S. National Guard. Lawrence was an avid gardener and reader, and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his cousins; Roxanne and Rick Gibson, Terry Campbell, Kelly Hitchcock, Kari and Mike Filipiak, Justin and Shannon Gibson, Dalis Hitchcock and David Garza, and Brandon Hitchcock all of St. Louis, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, a cousin Douglas Campbell, and his 2 dogs Cody & Koty.
