Leland Morford

Leland Earl Morford age 81 of Jasper Township, Michigan died Monday, July 17, 2006 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Rev. James Burgess will officiate with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery Breckenridge, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Leland was born in Jasper Township, Michigan on April 23, 1925 the son of Frank E. and Edith ( Colbry ) Morford. He resided most of his life in Breckenridge, Wixom, and St. Louis, Michigan and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1942. Leland married Beulah Hoyt on April 28, 1943 in St. Louis, Michigan. She died on October 8, 2002. He retired from Dow Chemical as a Lab Technician in the early 1980's. He was an avid hunter and loved to read. Leland served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by a son David & Barbara Morford of St. Louis, MI, daughter Judith & Jeffrie Cole of Midland, MI, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, and 7 brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
