Leland Stine

Leland R. Stine age 95 of St. Louis, Michigan died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Liberty Adult Foster Care Home Dewitt, MI.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel. Pastor Jerry Drummond will officiate with burial at North Star Cemetery North Star, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2005 from 2-8 P.M.

Leland was born in North Star Township, Michigan on October 30, 1909 the son of Arthur and Mayme ( Bowen ) Stine. He attended Ashley High School. Leland married Hattie Krivak on March 5, 1932 in Flint, Michigan. Leland was a farmer and resided most of his life on the family farm near Ashley, Michigan. After retiring, he moved to Evergreen Park in St. Louis where he lived for 33 years. Leland and Hattie enjoyed traveling and took many trips including one around the world. They also traveled to Europe, Asia, Australia, the Holy Land, and all 50 U.S. States. They enjoyed going on ocean cruises too, including one on the Mediterranean Sea. Leland enjoyed playing cards at "Senior Citizens" and riding his bike around the park visiting with friends and neighbors. He loved biking and once took the Cross Country Bicycle Trip from Lansing to the Mackinaw Bridge. Leland was a member of East Washington United Brethren Church. While living in St. Louis, he attended the Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his son Marvin & Janet Stine of St. Johns, MI, 2daughters; Marilyn & Richard Crumbaugh of Ashley, MI, Maxine & Albert Galloway of Houghton Lake, MI, sister Twylah Farley Harney of Eustis, FL, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and 6 step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife Hattie in 1995.

Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
