Leland Town

Leland R. "Dit" Town, age 84, of Corunna, MI passed away suddenly at home Friday, February 19, 2010.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home, Corunna Chapel on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Paul Yderock will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from Noon - 6 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Leland was born in Flint, Michigan on July 4, 1925, the son of Daniel E. and Flossie (Beckwith) Town. Leland married Vera E. Hendershott on September 4, 1948 in Flint. He lived most of his life in Flint until he moved to the Corunna area in 1985. He was a salesman for Taystee Bread in Flint, retiring after 30 years.
He was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church in Flint.

Leland is survived by his wife Vera Town of Corunna, MI, son Richard Town of Burt, MI, daughter Ruth Ellen (Robert) Ebmeyer of Corunna, MI, son Leonard Town of Flushing, MI, grandson Andrew (Michelle) Lamke, granddaughter Betsy Stroik, granddaughter Katie (Jeff) Wampler, grandson Nathan (April) Town, and granddaughter LeAnn (Nate Emmons) Ebmeyer. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marylyn Valie' Town, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
