Lena R. Sherman, age 90, of Corunna, MI passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.
A Graveside Service will be held at Fremont Cemetery, Bancroft, MI on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Ray A. Strawser II officiating.
Lena was born in Bancroft, Michigan on March 18, 1921, the daughter of James and Hazel (VanNewkirk) Heath. Lena resided most of her life in Shiawassee County and was a graduate of Bancroft High School.
Lena and Dair Jr. were married on November 23, 1939. He passed away on November 16, 1993. Lena liked collecting antiques, silver spoons and enjoyed weaving. She loved to travel and traveled all over the country. Lena was very active in Home Extension at Michigan State University, serving as past safety officer.
She is survived by her daughter Wanda and James Reynolds of Cocoa, FL, son Dair and Brenda Sherman, III of Owosso, MI, 5 grandchildren; James Reynolds III, Katherine Reynolds, Michelle Bratsch, Dair Sherman IV and Theresa Sherman, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Catherine McCaske and her granddaughter Angela Curry.
