Leona M. Kloeckner of Fowler, MI, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the age of 92. Born on June 17, 1919, in Dallas Township, MI, she was the daughter of Louis G. and Mary (Wieber) Thelen. Leona married Martin J. Kloeckner in 1941 and he preceded her in death. Leona lived all her life in the Fowler and Riley Township areas, and was a member of the Christian Women's Association.
Leona is survived by her children, Gerald (Ann) Kloeckner of Eagle, MI, Janet (Thomas) Halfmann of South Milwaukee, WI, David (Janet) Kloeckner of Munster, IN, and Mark (Deborah) Kloeckner of White Lake, MI; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Fox; sisters-in-law, Eileen and Betty Thelen; brother-in law, Roy Harr, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Leona was preceded in death by brothers, Clement, Jerome, Marvin and Claude Thelen; sisters, Florence Becker and Arlene Harr; brothers-in-law, Al Becker and Hugo Fox; sister-in-laws, Mary Ann, Genevieve and Bonnie Thelen.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, May 8, at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler. A Rosary will be prayed at 3 PM and a Vigil Service at 8 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 9, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler with Fr. Dennis Howard presiding. Burial will follow at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Leona's name to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers or the Siena Center of the Dominican Sisters in Racine, WI. The family is being served by Osgood Funeral Homes.
