Leonard Benson

Leonard Allen Benson age 67 of St. Louis, Michigan died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Rolla Timmons will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Leonard was born in Woburn, Massachusetts on May 6, 1940 the son of Fred and Muriel (Langell) Benson. He grew up in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and had also resided in Mt. Pleasant, MI and graduated from Nashua New Hampshire Schools with the class of 1958. Leonard married Linda Pugsley on August 24, 1996 in St. Louis, Michigan. He was a self employed carpenter until 1994, and also worked as a Mechanical Engineer and in Maintainence at Gratiot Medical Center. Leonard was an avid reader, and he enjoyed working with computers. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife Linda Benson of St. Louis, MI, mother Muriel Benson of Alma, MI, 2 brothers; Ronald & Judith Benson of California, Edmund & Patricia Benson of St. Louis, MI, and 9 nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his father, sister Barbara Hillis and brother-in-law Robert Hillis.

Memorials may be made to Gratiot Area Hospice or Gratiot Medical Center. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
