Leoraine Laverne (Wortman, Morrissey) Kovich, age 93, of Owosso MI passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center, Flint, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Owosso Church of Christ on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 12:00 P.M., Minister Steve Lockwood will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 3, 2009 and Wednesday February 4, 2009 from 2-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso.
Leoraine was born in Midland, Michigan on February 23, 1915, the daughter of John and Pearl (Granger) Howard. She resided most of her life in Owosso and was married to John Wortman, William Morrissey and Louis Kovich. Leoraine worked at Memorial Healthcare as a Dietician for 15 years and Mitchell Bentley for several years. Leoraine loved gardening, dancing and spending time with her family. Her family was her life. She was a member of Owosso Church of Christ Owosso, MI.
Leoraine is survived by her daughter Beverly and Robert Lawrence of Ovid, MI, son Richard and Sue Wortman of Ceresco, MI, son Dennis Wortman & fiancee April of Gould City, MI, daughter Christine and Joseph Call of Chesaning, MI, grandchildren; Robert and Angie Lawrence Jr., Debra Dunham, Cheri and Wayne Bowen, Jane and Kevin Soukup, Edie and John Billingsley, Keli Sue Montonagh & fiance Andy, Bryce and Angela Call, Brynn and Eric Najdowski, Brittney Call & fiance Blake Darling, 13 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, sister Joyce and James Steiss of Owosso, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a son in infancy John Kenneth Wortman, a sister, Beatrice Mitchell and 2 brothers; Albert (Bud) Howard and Lewis Howard.
