Leota Lenora Adams, age 90, of Corunna, MI passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Douglas Levesque will officiate. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2012 from 1-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Leota was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 27, 1921, the daughter of Franklin Eugene and Lenora Bernice (Cords) Johnson. She graduated from Owosso High School in 1939 and resided all of her life in the Owosso area. Leota married Myron E. Adams in 1941. Myron passed away on December 18, 1970.
Leota worked for Midwest Abrasives for 29 and a half years before retiring in 1983. She loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren. Fishing was her favorite pastime along with her special friend William Svatik. Leota was a past member of Bennington United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia J. and Arthur Ash of Corunna, MI, 7 grandchildren; Julie Geren, JoAnne Schultz, Jillyn Ash, Jon Adams, Eric Adams, Craig Adams and Steve Godfrey, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Leota was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Mike Adams, 4 brothers; Clyde, Colon, Edward and Edwin Johnson and sister Gloria Johnson.
