Leroy Bendt

Leroy H. Bendt, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on February 14, 2013 at the age of 85. Born November 20, 1927, in Detroit Lakes, MN. He was the son of Alfred and Alice (Pensyl) Bendt. Leroy was a member of the U.A.W. Local #652; retiring in 1993 from General Motors Transportation Division.

Leroy was joined in marriage to Lois (Stevens) Bendt on August 20, 1962 and she survives him. He is also survived by four children, Debra (Brian) Curtis of Ionia, Marcy (Anthony Calabro) Glick of Orlando, FL, Duane Bendt of Ionia, Missy (Scott) Livasy of Ionia, 20 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister, Carol (William) Moxley, brother, David (Patricia) Bendt, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, SSgt. Leroy S. Bendt, grandson, Derek S. Calabro, and brother, Alfred Bendt, Jr..

Please join the family in A Celebration of Leroy's life on Saturday March 2, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1108 N. US-27 in St. Johns, MI. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Homes.
