Leroy Dale Dumond, age 81, of Elsie, MI died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Ovid Healthcare Center.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home, Elsie Chapel on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Keith McKinnes will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Dale was born in Fairfield Township, Michigan on December 18, 1928, the son of Clyde and Freda (Haak) Dumond. He was a graduate from Ovid High School. On September 29, 1949 he married Donna Bell Taylor. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cpl. He was a member of the 101 Airborne, serving in Europe during the Cold War. Dale was a lifetime farmer and also worked for Midland Ross driving a forklift and setting the dies in the presses. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle Flint, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife Donna Bell Dumond of Elsie, MI, 2 sons; David L. and Charis Dumond of Corunna, Michigan, Larry D. Dumond of Corunna, Michigan, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and brother Clyde "Jim" and Dora Dumond, Jr. of Henderson, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Bobby Dumond, daughter Luann Faye Dumond, grandson Jeremy Dumond, and daughter-in-law Sue Dumond.
