LeRoy Runyan

LeRoy A. Runyan, age 91, of National City, MI & formerly of Owosso passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital, Tawas, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Jeremy Benton will officiate, and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday September 25, 2010 from 6-8 PM and Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

LeRoy was born in Owosso, Michigan on November 29, 1918, the son of William and Julia (Potter) Runyan. LeRoy was a graduate of Corunna High School and resided most of his life in Owosso. LeRoy married Gurnith "Gerry" Pardee on July 2, 1946. She passed away on January 27, 1991.

LeRoy was a shipping and receiving clerk for Johnson Control of Owosso, retiring in 1978. After retiring he enjoyed hunting, fishing, caring for his home up north, helping others and most importantly his family.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Dian McDannel of Westville, IN, son LeRoy A. and Cindy Runyan of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Janet S. Runyan of Tawas, MI, son Thomas E. and Kathy Runyan of Owosso, MI, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, brother William and Virginia Runyan of Corunna, MI, brother Arden Runyan of Owosso, MI, and sister Bernice and Russ Potter of Morrice, MI. LeRoy is also survived by several nieces and nephews. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, great-granddaughter, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
