Leroy E. Wierman, age 89, of Alma, MI formerly of Ashley, MI passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot, Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Mona Dye officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Leroy was born in Montcalm County, MI on December 1, 1925, the son of Harold and Myrtie (Chapman) Wierman. He married Lillian Webster on June 13, 1977 in Ashley, MI; she preceded him in death. Leroy resided in the Central Michigan area all of his life. He retired from General Motors, was a US Army veteran, and was a member of the Ashley Lions Club for many years. Leroy was a member of Ashley United Methodist Church and was very active in his church all of his life. He also enjoyed working puzzles and loved taking pictures of his family.
He is survived by his 2 daughters; Doris Clark of St. Louis, MI, Patty McFee of St. Louis, MI, stepson Doug Webster of Farmington Hills, MI, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 2 brothers; Martin Wierman of Dewitt, MI and Jay Wierman of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillian, grandson Rex Wierman, 2 stepchildren; Charlotte deBlecourt and Robert Webster, brother Lawrence Wierman, and sister Ilah Bahr."
