LeWana Jane Valentine, age 87, of Owosso, MI passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday June 24, 2011 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

LeWana was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 25, 1923, the daughter of George W. and Anna D. (Marks) Howell. LeWana resided all of her life in Owosso and was a graduate of Owosso High School. LeWana married Cecil Valentine on April 26, 1943 in Owosso, MI. He passed away on October 24, 2004. LeWana was a charter member of the Palette & Brush Club. She was also a member of the Owosso Church of God.

She is survived by her daughter Connie and Robert Houchen of Garden City, MI, daughter Nancy Gillman of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren; Joseph and Kristi Schmitt of Canton, MI, Julie and Michael Palm of Dearborn Heights, MI, Susan and Jason Taylor of Omaha, NE, Eric and Erin Gillman of Plano, IL, 8 great-grandchildren, sister Sue Ann Cimbalik of Flint, MI, and many nieces and nephews. LeWana was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
