A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John XXIII Parish of Hemlock, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 151 St. Mary’s Dr., Hemlock, MI 48626 at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, with Rev. Fr. Michael F. Steltenkamp, S.J. presiding. Burial will take place at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 2-8 P.M. at St. John XXIII Parish of Hemlock, St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Lewis was born in Wheeler, Michigan on October 26, 1934, the son of Edward Albert and Lottie Marie (Lamrouex) Becker. He married Helen Elizabeth Masar on October 8, 1953 in Owosso, Michigan. They were blessed with nearly 68 years of marriage.
Lewis worked as a mechanic with Scientific Brake & Equipment for 27 years. He also had worked as a mechanic and supervisor with Diamond Reo for 12 years. He was a proud farmer who loved farming and taking care of his lawn.
Lewis enjoyed annual trips to Drummond Island fishing with his family and trips to Crystal Lake and stops at A&W for root beer. He enjoyed trips to Marquette with his wife Helen especially the fall color tour. He also liked deer hunting and he was lucky enough to get a bear in the UP. He liked attending the Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor shows with his tractor. Most of all Lewis loved time with his family and was proud of the legacy of five generations he and Helen created.
He attended St. John XXIII Parish of Hemlock, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of Teamsters.
He is survived by his wife Helen Becker of Wheeler, MI; children: Lewis and Nancy Becker Jr. of St. Charles, MI, Michael and Kathy Becker of St. Charles, MI, Jeffery Becker of Saginaw, MI, Linda and Jeffrey Williams of Brant, MI, Kimberly and Michael Crandell of Sumner, MI, Lisa and Kirk Bott of Marquette, MI; and brother Cecil and Dorothy Becker of Ithaca, MI. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Twyla and son in law Randolph Weigold.
