Lila Mae Masarik

     Lila Mae Masarik, age 94, of St. Johns, MI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Grace Haven Assisted Living, St. Johns, Michigan.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
     Lila was born in St. Johns, Michigan on August 4, 1930, the daughter of Ralph and Pearl (Miller) Cole. In 1947, Lila married Albert Frank Masarik in Birmingham, Michigan. They were blessed with sixty-eight years of marriage prior to his passing on October 4, 2015.
     Lila loved her family dearly and devoted her life to being a wife and mother. She worked for the Treasury Department of the State of Michigan until retiring to care for her daughter Gloria during her battle with cancer. In her spare time, Lila enjoyed going to the cottage in Leota and to the casino.
     She is survived by three children: Ross Masarik of St. Johns, MI; Sandra Masarik of Lansing, MI; and Gary (Karen) Masarik of Eaton Rapids, MI; son-in-law Roger Hart of Frankenmuth, MI;thirteen grandchildren: Erinn, Annie, Kelly, Jason, Michael, Michelle, Jennifer, Nicole, James, Carrie, Katie, Matthew, and Andrew; many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, two brothers: Leroy Cole, and Bill Cole, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert, daughter Gloria Hart, and son-in-law Doug Hankey.
