Lila Margaret Brown Mogg age 92 of Owosso, Michigan passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Corunna, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 1:00 PM. Pastor James A. Bare will officiate with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 6-8 P.M.
Lila was born in New Haven Township, Michigan on October 16, 1915 the daughter of Adin Brown and Sophie Holzhausen. A life long resident of Owosso and Corunna, Lila was raised on her family farm in New Haven Township surrounded by relatives who had immigrated from Germany. After attending the one room Underwood School, she graduated from Corunna High School and later completed a Cosmetology course.
In August 1937 Lila married Gerald V. Mogg and the couple raised a family in Owosso. Lila loved competing in golf and bridge and won several trophies and awards in both. She also enjoyed walking, bowling, biking, as well as playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. Lila enjoyed being with her family and liked playing with her grandchildren. She spent all her summers at her family cottage at Crystal Lake, where she swam, boated, and enjoyed her neighbors at the lake. Lila was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Chruch.
She is survived by her 4 children; Carolyn & Paul Wolfe of Fairborn, OH, Myrna & Edward Wrona of Lake Ann, MI, Wayne & Geri Mogg of Owosso, MI, Robert & Elizabeth Mogg of Owosso, MI, 9 grandchildren; Bruce & Craig Wolfe, Jeffrey, Josh, and Jayson Wrona, Kristiana (Mogg) Zimmerman, Benjamin & Nicholas Mogg, and Jacquelyn (Mogg) Murray, 11 great grandchildren, in addition to many nieces and nephews, and 2 sisters-in-law Aileen Brown, & Joy Lott. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers Walter & Martin Brown, and her half brothers and sisters.
