Lila Moss graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1947. She retired in 1989 after 39 years with General Motors, working thereafter for her son (Attorney Bruce Moss) in Alma until her death. She and her husband lived first in Montrose, and then resided in Chesaning for the past 34 years.
Throughout her lifetime, Lila Moss loved music, singing, and crossword puzzles, and she and her husband were heavily involved as square dance and round dance "callers." They have long been supporters of Alma College, often attending sports and cultural events there. Mrs. Moss was especially known for her cheery and pleasant nature, and was often described by those who knew her as "a lovely person." Her generosity was expressed in actions such as the knitting of caps and gloves for underprivileged children and family members.
