Lila VanHorn

Lila M. VanHorn, age 81, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center Alma, with her family by her side.

A Memorial Dinner will be held at Sumner Township Hall at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

Lila was born in Farwell, Michigan on May 18, 1938, the daughter of Goldie Reed. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1956. Lila worked in the Deli at Ashcrafts/Glenn's in Alma for many years.  Lila enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and putting puzzles together. She collected elephants and owls and was known for her homemade bread. Lila liked visiting with friends and loved the time she spent with family.

She is survived by her children: Wanda and Mark Johnson of Ithaca, MI; Carolyn Wolfgang of Remus, MI; Tina and William Maynard of Weidman, MI; James and Kim VanHorn, Jr. of Ithaca, MI; 10 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and her brother L.E. Reed of Mt. Pleasant, MI.    She was preceded in death by mother Goldie Reed, husband James VanHorn, Sr., her sister Veola Reed and special sister-in- law Helen Reed.
