Lillian S. Allen Crosson, age 94, of Elsie, Michigan passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at her daughters home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Ralph Parkin officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Lillian was born in Omer, Michigan on August 24, 1920, the daughter of Walter and Sarah (Campbell) Bugh. She graduated from Omer High School with the class of 1938; she then attended MSU and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Teaching. On March 28, 1942 she married Ralph Allen in Marion Springs, Michigan; Ralph died July 9, 1970. In 1994 she married Reginald Crosson in Elsie, MI. Reg died November 24, 2010. Lillian taught school for 41 years; teaching in the rural school for 11 years and the Ovid-Elsie school system for 30 years. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing, traveling and going to the casino. Lillian was best known for fried chicken dinners, big rolls and fish dinners. She resided most of her life in the Elsie area. Lillian was a member of the NEA and MEA, and of the First Baptist Church Elsie, MI.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Rita and Robert Boyd of Elsie, MI, Linda and Donald McCallister of Portage, MI, Sandy and Richard Hinspeter of Elsie, MI, 2 step daughters; Regina and Ronald Bush of Ovid, MI, Susan and Thomas McGraw of Plainwell, MI, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law; Georgia Coon, Norma Samuelson, and Mona Jean Allen, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, 2 husbands, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
