Lillian Fox

Lillian Fox, age 86, of Owosso, MI passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 at her home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM, Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate.

Lillian was born in Clio, Michigan on June 27, 1922, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Major) Staley. She graduated from Montrose High School as Salutatorian. Lillian Staley married Gerald Fox on June 6, 1942 in Angola, IN. Lillian resided most of her life in Rockford, MI and was a member of the Rockford Methodist Church. She was employed by the Rockford Register Newspaper for 16 years. She loved to cook and sew. Family was very important to her especially spending time with her great-grandchildren. Lillian enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was admired for being a very caring and helpful person to others.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Fox of Owosso, MI; daughter Janeen and Paul Chaffee of Owosso, MI; son Jim and Leslie Fox of Alma, MI; 4 grandchildren; Scott and Jodi Chaffee, Brent and Brianne Chaffee, Johanna Fox and Anneliese Fox and Kyle Mason; 3 great grandchildren; Paige Chaffee, Audrey Chaffee and Brynn Chaffee; sister Norine Tarrant of Flushing, MI; 2 sisters-in-law; Lorraine Staley of Flushing, MI, and Jeanne and George Farrar of Missouri and numerous nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters; Marie and Emma and 5 brothers; Alex, Gus, Robert, Victor and August.
