Linda Nelson

Linda K. Nelson, 75, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Alma, MI.

In following Linda's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.

Linda was born in North Star Township, MI on July 18, 1945, the daughter of Merlin "Dutch" and Florence "Lucy" (Canfield) Haas.

Linda graduated from Ithaca High School and began a long career in the banking/computer field. She moved to Texas where she lived for 25 years and ended her career as a bank examiner for the FDIC. She never touched a computer again after her retirement.

Linda loved to travel, take cruises, gamble at casinos and go to garage sales.  She truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Linda fought a long and courageous battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome) a bone marrow failure disorder. We are forever grateful to Dr. Ernest, Dr. Sahay and the staff and nurses at the Cancer-Infusion Center for her excellent care.

Linda is survived by 5 sisters: Nancy (Tom) Chapko, Barbara Breidinger, Sharon (Jack) Bellinger, Joyce (Ernie) Nieman, and Vicki (Tom) Mallory; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 nephews: Brian Chapko and Ted Zimmerman, Jr.; and her beloved dog Alf.

Her family has requested donations be made to the Pardee Cancer Center (315 E.
