Linford J. Jaquith age 70 of Ithaca, Michigan passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 22, 2006.
The son of Harold B. and Eva B. Jaquith, he was born in Jackson, Michigan on January 15, 1936. He enlisted in the Navy on January 15, 1953 and served for eight years. In 1961 he transferred to the Naval Reserve Officers Training program at Michigan State University. By taking classes year-round he was able to earn a bachelora�(TM)s degree in business administration in three years. Upon graduation in 1964, Linford also received a commission as an Ensign and re-entered the Navy. He was active duty from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1979. At that time ha had attained the rank of Lt. Commander.
Linford received; two special Navy Commendation, a Battle Efficiency Award of Excellence for his work supervising petroleum distribution in the Mekong Delta, a Combat Action Award, a Presidential Unit Citation, and awards for service in Korea, China, Viet Nam, a United Nations Defense Recognition, and a National Defense Recognition. After his honorable discharge he entered the business world selling industrial roofing in California. He was a member of the V.F.W. Mark Daniels Post # 1735.
Linford is survived by his son David Jaquith of Antioch, CA, daughter Erin Jaquith of Ithaca, MI, brother Charles Jaquith of Grand Rapids, MI, a sister of Marilyn Fry of Leesburg, FL. And numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Eva Jaquith, and brother Philip Arthur Jaquith.
