Lisa Rice-Conklin

Lisa A. Rice-Conklin, age 43, was born in Lansing, MI on January 21, 1968, the daughter of Phillip and Rose (Corner) Rice, loving mother, sister, spouse and dear friend. On December 9, 2011 Lisa overcame (We don't feel like she lost) her four year courageous battle with breast cancer. She arrived on the wings of angels to be greeted by those who have gone before her, Richard and Hazel Corner, Phyllis Fabella, Wilma Flynn, Mable McCullan, William Rice, Jr., Marjorie Eddie, Mary Wilcox, Ralph and Anna Peseka (Eric's grandparents) and Tom Moore (Rhett and Randall's grandpa) and many others.

In her transition, Lisa was surrounded by her 3 precious children, Rhett, Randall and Jakob Blemaster; her life long soulmate and best friend, Eric Conklin, parents, Phil and Rose Rice, sister/bestfriend, Brandi Blumerich, Eric's mother, Phyllis (Paseka) Rewerts, Aunt Evelyn and numerous special friends including, the Blemaster and Moore families and her daily companions, Ruby and Weinna.

Lisa will not be remembered by where she lived, Maple Rapids or where she went to school, DeWitt High School, Class of 1986, or even for what she did for a living, but rather for the footprints she has left behind in the lives of each individual she encountered as she journeyed through life.

Known by many, what we will remember most about our mother, daughter, sister, friend and soulmate is her unforgettable laughter, her incredible smile, her strength and her ability to make complete strangers feel like life long pals.

Lisa had a love for the outdoors, especially when it involved her kids. Together they enjoyed gardening, canoeing, fishing, camping and walking the Mackinaw Bridge.

While she will be sorely missed by her children and many who knew her, there is no doubt that she slid into heaven with her boisterous voice and stomped her foot by saying "Let's get this party started!!"

Lisa, we all say thank you for making this world a better and brighter place. We all love you... we all miss you, we all will see you again. Today beautiful one, we celebrate who you were in this life!
