Lloyd Edward McMaster, Sr.

     Lloyd Edward McMaster, Sr., age 80, of Ovid, MI, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Cedar Creek of Hastings.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, November 24, 2023, with Pastor Scott Seelhoff officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

     Lloyd was born in St. Johns, Michigan on January 28, 1943, the son of Willard Wilson and Ruth (Devries) McMaster. Lloyd married Joyce Patrick on June 14, 1962. Joyce passed away on February 27, 2012.   

     Lloyd worked as a fork lift driver for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1995. After retirement Lloyd worked at L and L grocery store in St. Johns and he was employed with Walmart in their garden center for one season. Lloyd was very mechanically inclined and creative when it came to fixing things. He enjoyed driving his golf cart around town, karaoke, camping, putting puzzles together and traveling with his wife Joyce.  His dog "Jojo McMaster" brought him so much joy and companionship. He was a member of the United Church of Ovid for many years.

     He is survived by his children: Sherry Lynn Bates of St. Johns, MI; Timothy James McMaster of Sylvania, Georgia; Lloyd Jr. and Sandy McMaster of Ovid, MI; Jeffery Willard McMaster of Belding, MI; Steven Andrew and Michelle McMaster of Belding, MI; sister Janet McMaster of Baldwin, MI; grandchildren: Joy and Rich Scofield, Julie Carfagno (Nate), Philip and Rebecca Hasenbank, Taylor and Dakota Kipper, Jenna McMaster, Melissa McMaster, Jeanette and James Gribben, Jon McMaster, Chloe McMaster, Josh and Hanna McMaster, Dylan McMaster, Britney McMaster, Justin McMaster, Taryn McMaster, Kate McMaster, Christian Bunce, and Michaela Bunce; great- grandchildren: William, Trinity, Dayanara, RJ, Lauren, Jakub, Ricki, Cameron, Delaney, Jackson, Alexis, Kaitlyn, James, Beckham, Keira, Xzylie, and Paxtyn,.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ruth, wife Joyce, son Billy McMaster, grandson Ricki Hasenbank, and great-granddaughter Madi McMaster.
