Lloyd Eugene Wing, age 89, of Owosso, MI passed away Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at Ovid Healthcare Center , Ovid, MI.
Memorial services will be on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Owosso, Rev. Susan Kingsley will officiate.
Lloyd was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 27, 1920, the son of Robert R. and Hatttie (Decker) Wing. Lloyd married Dorothy Curtis on February 27, 1948 in Owosso, MI. He resided most of his life in Owosso.
Lloyd graduated from Owosso High School as Valedictorian and attended Owosso Business School. He was employed by Indian Trails for 15 years and worked as an Accountant for Universal Electric Company for 31 years, retiring in 1986. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II, he was on the SC711 Subchaser patrolling coastal waters between Florida and Cuba. Lloyd was a member of the American Legion #57 Patterson-Dawson, Shiawassee Council on Aging volunteering and serving on the Board of Directors and was a mentor for the Owosso School System. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was very active and sang in the choir. Lloyd was a talented painter, wrote poetry and loved photography. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Wing of Owosso, MI; daughter Susan and David Olsson of Kildeer, IL; son James and Jeanne Wing of Niles, MI; son Russell Wing of Owosso, MI; 4 grandchildren Elizabeth and Orlie Diaz of Niles, MI, Julianne Wing of Niles, MI, Eric and Heather Olsson of Hoffman Estates, IL, Paul Olsson of Kildeer, IL; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Merton and Mary Wing of Corunna, MI, Charles and Nancy Wing of Okemos, MI; 2 sisters Virginia and Robert Parks of Keller, TX, Phyllis and Gordon Brown of Owosso, MI; 2 sisters-in-law Alma Wing of Corunna, MI, Theresa Wing of Owosso.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Joel Wing, 3 brothers Elmer, Ervin and Clifford Wing also a sister Audrey Hoddy, 2 sisters-in-law Doretta Wing and Maxine Wing also brother-in law Ray Hoddy.
