Lois Pearl Huffman, age 97, of Vernon, MI passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 3:30 PM, Pastor Russell Hubbard and Pastor Fred Lab will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 6-8 PM and Friday, August 12, 2011 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
Lois was born in Mulberry, Florida on April 9, 1914, the daughter of Leslie Franklin and Honor Catherine (Henley) Wilson. Pearl resided most of her life in Vernon, MI. She was first married to Wallace Stetson Adams in Owosso, MI on March 22, 1941. He passed away on June 17, 1979. Pearl then married Jack L. Huffman on May 9, 1985 in Vernon, MI. He passed away in October of 1999.
The most important thing to Pearl was her family and loved it when everyone was together. She retired from Universal Electric of Owosso in 1976. She loved to take trips with the Senior Citizens, playing Minnie Pearl. Pearl also sang with the choir at Lighthouse Church, Vernon, MI, where she and Wallace were founding members. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards & all games, camping, going up north and especially shopping at Shipshewana with her daughters and granddaughters.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Brenda and Fred Lab of Owosso, MI, Barbara and Donald Danklefsen of Angola, IN, 2 sons; Gail Adams of Durand, MI, Randy and Pamela Adams of Morrice, MI, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in Florida. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a daughter Albra, 3 sons; Richard, Harold and Leroy, 2 grandsons; Richie and Lonny and 2 sisters; Lillian and Chloe.
