Lola Mae Ockerman, age 91, of Corunna and formerly of Owosso, MI, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 1:00 PM, Rev. Jerry Walden will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 2-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Lola was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 16, 1917, the daughter of Percy and Hazel (Crandell) Nelson. Lola married James Ockerman on January 3, 1933 in Owosso, MI. He passed away on August 16, 1988. Lola resided her entire life in Owosso. She worked as a Butcher at Byerly Grocery Store and Eberhardts Grocery Store both of Owosso. Lola enjoyed painting and playing cards while at Pleasant View with the other residents.

She is survived by 2 sons; James and Nancy Ockerman of Owosso, MI, Richard and Patricia Ockerman of Grand Blanc, MI, 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters; Lucile and Stanley Pirochta of Owosso, MI, Helen Peck of Corunna, MI, Eleanor Kenyon of Corunna, MI. Lola was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son Dale Ockerman, grandson, Patrick Ockerman, 2 brothers; Lloyd and Vern Nelson and 2 sisters, Joann Powell and Margaret Isham.
