Lona Silm

Lona M. Silm, died on October 19, 2010, at the age of 101. Born June 26, 1909 in Riley Township, Michigan the daughter of Christian and Anna (Rossow) Marten. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. Lona was a former Clinton Memorial Hospital Gift Shop volunteer. She married Martin H. Silm on May 16, 1934 and he preceded her in death July 8, 1965.

Lona is survived by daughter, Gladys (John Ernst) Ruestman and son, Charles (Theresa) Silm all of St. Johns, five grandchildren, Evelyn Peterson, Lynn (Sue Cook) Ruestman, Chloe, Michelle and Stephanie Silm , six great grandchildren and sister in law, Arlene Martin. In addition to her husband, Lona was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Marten and an infant brother as well as a sister Ivah Klueckling. Contributions may be made in Lona's memory to St. Peter Lutheran Church Faith, Family, forever Fund.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 25, 2010 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, burial at St. Peter Cemetery with Pastor Jeffrey Heimsoth officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm and Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm., at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 East Cass St. , St. Johns, MI. 48879.
