Lonnie Gene Spencer, age 50, of Howell, MI passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, MI with Rev. Susan Kingsley officiating. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 5, 2012 from 6-8 PM. and Friday, April 6, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel in Owosso, MI.
Lonnie was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 13, 1961, the son of Leroy K. Spencer and Ruth L. (Kinney) and Harry Conrad. He was a graduate of Morrice High School with the class of 1980. Lonnie married Pamela Ann (Paus) Spencer on June 21, 2008 in Howell, MI. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and resided most of his life in Shiawassee County. He was currently a truck driver for Werner Enterprises. Lonnie loved the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, NASCAR #14 Tony Stewart, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading, fishing, and hunting.
Lonnie is survived by his wife Pamela Spencer of Howell, MI, 2 daughters; Kala Spencer of Owosso, MI, Sarah Ostrander of Owosso, MI, son Nathan Spencer of Owosso, MI, stepdaughter Lori and Karl Maurer of Howell, MI, stepson Tom Swartout of Bancroft, MI, stepfather Harry Conrad of Owosso, MI, 6 grandchildren; Linkin, Sarah, Olivia, Isabella, Zachary, and Kelsey, 6 sisters; Rhonda King of Owosso, MI, twin sister Lorie and Rick German of Campbellville, TN, Kathy and Dave Kersjes of Owosso, MI, Carmen and Mike Domanski of Grand Rapids, MI, Tara Witherell of Owosso, MI, and Ada Conrad of Owosso, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
