Lorena Marks

Lorena Jean Marks age 87 of Corunna, Michigan died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be Monday & Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon, Michigan. Pastor Wayne Thomas of Durand United Methodist Church will officiate.
Jean was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 17, 1920 the daughter of Orville Fredrick & Inez Catherine (Forrester) Freeman. She graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1938 and resided most of her life in the Owosso, Corunna & Vernon area.
On September 30, 1944 she married Charles W. Marks in Flint, Michigan, Charles died on July 21, 1998. Jean was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing & baking. She became a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church in 1945 and was the longest continuous member of the church, she was also a member of various County Extension Clubs; Member of the Vernon United Methodist Church Womena�(TM)s Club; and also a member of various womena�(TM)s clubs in Shiawassee County.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Patricia & Jerry West of Mason, Michigan, Darla & Randall Luft of Corunna, Michigan, 3 sons, Ronald & Susan Marks of Dayton, Ohio, Daniel Marks of Traverse City, Michigan, William Marks of Corunna, Michigan, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Orville & Thelma Freeman of Owosso, Michigan, John & Josephine Freeman of Corunna, Michigan, 1 sister, Doris Conn of Owosso, Michigan, 1 sister in law, Marjorie Marks of Traverse City, Michigan, several nieces and nephews.
