Louis W. Gyurnek age 84 of Sumner, MI died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Pine River Healthcare Center St. Louis, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Wayne Boughan will officiate with burial at Sumner Cemetery Sumner, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 from 4-8 P.M.

Louis was born in Wisconsin on July 3, 1922 the son of Mr. & Mrs. George Gyurnek He resided most of his life in Sumner, MI. Louis married Roseann Kunkel on January 31, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant, MI. She died on April 4, 1990. He retired from Detroiter Mobile Homes, and also had worked for Middleton Grainery. He loved to dance and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his 6 children: Kathleen & Douglas Roberts of Rvierdale, MI, Rose Wallace of Alma, MI, Frank & Linda Gyurnek of Tennesee, Phyllis & Richard Rahn of St. Louis, MI, Carol Gyurnek of Tennessee, Mary Moore of Tennessee, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister Anna Denman of Ithaca, MI, and half brother Thomas & Francis Gyurnek of Sumner, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter Evelyn, son Ronald Lee, grandson James, 2 sisters Rose & Mary and 2 brothers, Joe & George.

Memorials may be made to the family or Heartland Hospice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
