Louis John Palus age 80 of Elsie, Michigan died Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Ovid Healthcare Center Ovid, MI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 from 6-8 P.M. & Thursday, November 3, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Louis was born in Ashley, Michigan on February 11, 1925 the son of Joseph and Anna ( Homola ) Palus. He graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1943 and resided most of his life in the Elsie area. Lewis married Christina Ochodnicky on August 16, 1947 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan. He was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan and of the First Catholic Slovak Union.

He is survived by his wife Christina Palus of Elsie, MI, 4 daughters; Mary & Dale Terryberry of Charlevoix, MI, Vicki Peak of Cedar Springs, MI, Kathy & Jim Vasilenko of St. Johns, MI, Kristie & Marty Peet of Ithaca, MI, 2 sons; Joseph & Trudy Palus of Elsie, MI, Louis Palus Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 sister Mary Fizzell of Owosso, MI. He is predeceased by his parents and 1 sister Rose.

Memorials may be made to St. Cyril's Catholic Church or the Owosso Dyalisys Center. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
