Lowell George Bebow, age 85, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Alma, MI, on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Biedenbender officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI.
Lowell was born in St. Louis, MI on June 1, 1935, the son of George and Lottie (Bolt) Bebow. He graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1953. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On August 17, 1957 he married Margery Jean Harrison in St. Louis, MI. Margery passed away on April 16, 2012.
Lowell was a lifelong farmer in Gratiot County and received "Farmer of the year" in 1988. Lowell and Margery loved antiquing together and he especially enjoyed collecting cast iron toys. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was on the St. Louis Public Schools school board for many years and also on the board of directors for B & W Co-op. He was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he also served on the church council.
He is survived by daughter Jill and Jerry Bartlett of Breckenridge, son Brad and Paula Bebow of St. Louis, MI, grandchildren: Kevin and Ashley Bebow of St. Louis, Grant Bebow of St. Louis, Gracelyn Bebow of St. Louis, and Meghan Bartlett of Breckenridge. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Eli, Brody and Stella. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Lottie Bebow, wife Margery, brother Ken Bebow, sister Geraldine Doepker, nephew Kim Bebow, and great nephew Josh Bebow.
