Lucie Ella Prikasky age 85, of Alma, MI passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot with family by her side.
She was born on September 18, 1932 in Fairfax County, VA to Everett C. & Lula E. (Davis) Brown. On January 22, 1951 she married Marvin R. Prikasky in Elizabeth City, NC.
Lucie was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and attended Leigh Memorial Hospital for her nursing training. After moving to MI, she worked as an LPN at Wilcox Hospital in Alma. She worked there for approximately 26 years, when it was a hospital and then a nursing home. She truly enjoyed her time as a nurse, as she found great joy in helping those around her.
She has touched the lives of so many with her loving hands and heart. She attended Beebe United Methodist Church and loved to read, knit, crochet and sew. Lucie was a Barbie doll enthusiast, and she was known for crocheting the most beautiful clothes for her Barbie doll collection. As she lost her eyesight, she was not able to participate in these hobbies like she used to. However, she still found a way to sew, and give back to her community. She was currently making quilts for needy children, with the help of good friends.
Surviving her are her daughters: Debbie (Allen) VanWormer of Port Huron; and Pam Fitzpatrick of Alma; 5 grandchildren: Doug Forehand, Jody Forehand, Buddy Forehand, Zachary Pendell and JoElla Fitzpatrick; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Phillip Brown and James Brown; 3 sisters: Clara Helding, Gladys Sharkey and Betty Pearson; sister in-law Barb Prikasky, her “adopted” daughter and friend Carol Williams, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Marvin; son Marvin Prikasky Jr.; brother William Brown and 4 sisters: Sylvia Brown, Sue Ritchie, Iva Raines and Nancy Boyd; sister-in-law Lucille Newman and brother-in-law Stuart Prikasky.
