Lyle R. Austin age 70 of Elsie, Michigan died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Memorial Healthcare Center Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Fairfield Township Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2005 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Lyle was born in Carland, Michigan on May 8, 1935 the son of Frank and Violet( Sanders ) Austin. He resided most of his life in Shiawassee County. Lyle married Beverly Bond on October 11, 1958. She died March 27, 1988. He worked as a farmer, and he delivered newspapers for the Argus Press. He enjoyed gardening & fishing.

He is survived by his daughter Mary Austin of Chesaning, MI, 3 grandchildren; Alaina, Dustin, and Emily Thompson, 2 great grandchildren; Austin & Jaden Thompson, 3 sisters; Virginia Godley of Washington, Eva & Gordon Roy of Lakview, MI, Leona & Jack Lauback of Tennessee, 3 brothers; Dale & Fran Austin of Durand, MI, Jerry & Linda Austin of Arkansas, Duane Austin of Arkansas, many nieces & nephews, long time companion Alvera Ade of Elsie, MI and her family; son Jim & Marie Ade of Elsie, MI, grandchildren; Karla & Mike McCurdy of Carland, MI, Starann & Jason Wenzlick of Elsie, MI, Sandy Litomisky of Elsie, MI, and great grandchildren Vidalia & Clay Wenzlick. He was predeceased by his parents.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or a Charity of the Donor's Choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
