Lyle "Russ" Stroup, age 73, of Corunna, MI passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Memorial Healthcare , Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Kay Leitelt will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery Venice Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday April 27, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Russ was born in Lapeer, Michigan on August 26, 1935, the son of Lyle E. and Beulah (Dennis) Stroup. He resided most of his life in the Corunna area. Russ married Joan Kalbfleisch on June 23, 1956 in Capac, MI. Russ retired from Indian Trails Bus Company after 30 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed woodworking and camping.
He is survived by his wife Joan Stroup of Corunna, MI, son Alan and Dawn Stroup of Corunna, MI, daughter Laurie and Dave McCollum of Sheridan, MI, son Randy and Patti Stroup of Hamilton, MI, grandchildren; Caleb, Sarah and Hannah Stroup all of Corunna, MI and Ashley and Erika Stroup of Hamilton, MI, sister Georgenia Lawrence of Dickeyville, WI, and brother-in-law Larry and Carol Kalbfleisch of Dumfries, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Wilma Clark.
