Lynwood Rowe "Lyn" Egbert, age 78, of Elsie, Michigan died Friday, September 6, 2013 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Mr. Dan Egbert officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Lyn was born in Blanchard, Michigan on October 30, 1934, the son of Clio and Thelma Egbert. He graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1953. On August 27, 1954 Lyn married Kay Lou Vincent in Elsie, Michigan. Kay predeceased him on September 22, 1996. Lyn resided most of his life in the Elsie area. He retired from Motor Wheel Corporation in Lansing, Michigan. Lyn enjoyed going to auctions, fishing and hunting, and he also liked to travel.

He is survived by 2 sons; Jim Egbert of Elsie, MI, Dan and Cindy Egbert of Rockford, MI, grandchildren; Carolyn and Kanyon Robertson, David and Faatima Egbert, Nathan and Sarah Egbert, Timothy Egbert, 1 brother Charles Egbert, 1 sister Sandy Thelen, and special friend Sue Santrucek. He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife.
