Lysle Stanton Jacobs, age 85, of New Lothrop, MI passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Cliff Furness will officiate. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, New Lothrop, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 22, 2009 from 4-8 PM and on Monday, November 23, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.
Lysle was born in Hazelton Township, Michigan on March 31, 1924, the son of Raymond John and Vera Sarah (Judd) Jacobs. Lysle resided all of his life in Hazelton Township, MI and graduated from Chesaning Union School class of 1941. He attended Juddville United Methodist Church.
Lysle was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of the Shiawassee, Flushing, Saginaw & Chesaning Historical Societies. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau, Dairy Shrine a lifetime member of the World Jersey Cattle Bureau and the American Jersey Association. Lysle was a great historian, writing the Judd family history. He loved to read and was very knowledgeable, he also loved animals especially his cows. As a child he was a member of 4-H & Chesaning FFA.
He is survived by his brother Raymond and Thelma Jacobs of Corunna, MI, nephew David and Janet Jacobs of New Lothrop, MI, niece Sara Thornburg of Ovid, MI, nephew John Dennis and Judy Jacobs of Wisconsin, nephew Gene Jacobs of Grand Rapids, MI, nephew Richard and Lori Jacobs of New Lothrop, MI, niece Norma Jacobs of Corunna, MI, and nephew Raymond and Angela Jacobs of New Lothrop, MI. Lysle is also survived by many great-nieces & nepews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers John F. (Mary) Jacobs and Warren Jacobs.
