Mabel Guild

Mabel F. Guild age 93 of Ithaca, Michigan died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Schnepp Health Care Center St. Louis, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Ithaca Church of God Ithaca, Michigan on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Rev. William Hunt will officiate with burial at North Star Cemetery, North Star, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.

Mabel was born in Brighton, England on December 30, 1912 the daughter of Henry and Florence Mary ( Gregory ) Miles. Mabel married Jay B. Guild on July 10, 1945 in Brighton, England. He died in August 1983. She resided most of her life in Ithaca, Michigan. Mabel retired from Ithaca Public Schools where she worked as a lunch aide for 18 years. She was an avid sewer, loved gardening, and cross stitch and enjoyed her grandsons sporting events. She was a member of Ithaca Church of God, and she was a past 4-H leader for several years.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Beverly & Tim Barrone of Gobles, MI, Becky & John Gilbert of Ithaca, MI, 4 grandchildren; Erica Barrone, Erin Barrone, Graham Gilbert, Guthrie Gilbert, and nieces & nephews still living in England. She is predeceased by her parents, husband and brother Jack.

Memorials may be made to Gratiot County Food for Friends, or Schnepps Garden Floor Activities Dept. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.
